It's going to be difficult to get a refund on the webcam as some kind soul here managed to throw the box out, so I really don't know where to turn next. The Windows 10 Camera app gives an error code of 0xA00F4244(0xC00DABE0) Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device.Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error when attempting to install it. (After god knows how many emails/chat messages/calls, I finally discovered that there is no Logitech driverįor this webcam: it's supposed to work with the inbuilt Windows 10 one.)ĭevice Manager gives the following error message (actually there have been several different variations but this is the latest) :

I have gone as far as I can with the less than helpful/responsive group of people at Logitech Support, who are insisting this is a Microsoft problem. I have even tried tinkering with Registry Edit (as per ) and creating an Administrator account to see if any of the solutions might I have uninstalled and reinstalled from Device Manager, plugged the webcam in and out of different USB ports, till I'mīlue in the face, to no avail. However, my PC at home (which is also Windows 10, but I think 32-bitĪs opposed to the 64-bit office one) recognises the webcam as soon as it's plugged in.īecause I'm usually working from home, so only in the office one or two days a week, it's been difficult trying to work on this problem. Mic was then fully functional.īTW two of my windows 10 PCs had the same problem with C920 and both were fixed by the above process. We bought the above webcam for the office at the end of November - and despite trying everything I can think of - and then some, I have not been able to get the computer to recognise it. Reboot PC - check mic is seen again in device manager, then turn back on "mic access for device" and turn back on "allow app access for your mic". Go to settings/system/sound/microphone privacy settings (under related settings) and TURN OFF "allow app access for your mic" and Turn off "microphone access for your device" Then go to device manager and uninstall the C920 device under audio input & output. I followed the advice in the post above but no joy, however through experimentation I found a solution. But I can see PVE host is able to grab correct hardware name. However, if I plug in the cam, no ding sound from Window 10, it cant detect the camera. When a USB bluetooth dongle or Logitech unifying receiver is plugged in to the passthrough USB port, they work like a charm. Then check listen to this device and apply, I got a squeal of feedback - therefore the mic is okay. Logitech C920 USB Webcam passthrough not working. However, when I went to sound control panel - settings/system/sound/sound control panel (under related settings), then choose the recoding tab and select microphone, I found that test microphone under audio settings saw no input, neither did voice recorder. Recently I discovered my C920 microphone stopped working with all video conference services.
